Welcome to Les Fondeurs d'Histoires 🕯️! The terms “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Les Fondeurs d'Histoires. Les Fondeurs d'Histoires operates this shop and website, including all related information, content, features, tools, products and services, to provide you, the customer, with a personalised shopping experience (the “Services”). Les Fondeurs d'Histoires is powered by Shopify, which enables us to provide the Services to you.

The terms and conditions below, together with all related policies (the “Terms of Service” or “Terms”), set out your rights and responsibilities when you use the Services.

Please read these Terms of Service carefully, as they contain important information about your legal rights and cover areas such as disclaimers and limitations of liability.

By visiting, interacting with or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms of Service or this Privacy Policy, you should not use or access our Services.

SECTION 1 – ACCESS AND ACCOUNT 🔐

By agreeing to these Terms of Service, you confirm that you are at least the age of majority in your country or region of residence, and you consent to allow any minor dependant of yours to use the Services under your responsibility.

To use the Services, including accessing our online shops or making a purchase, you may be asked to provide certain personal information (email address, billing, payment and delivery information). You guarantee that all information provided is accurate, complete and up to date.

You are solely responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for all activity carried out through your account.

How we present our products ✨

We take great care in presenting our products to give you a faithful view of their world, colours and characteristics.

However, variations may occur depending on screens, display settings or photographic conditions.

As part of our creative approach, some visuals, backgrounds or graphic elements may be designed or reworked by us using creative tools including artificial intelligence.

These visual elements are solely intended to extend the immersive experience and storytelling of each creation. They are not a contractual representation of the product in real-life use.

Please note that we are not illustrators. Our craft is the handmade design of scented candles. The associated visuals are world-building supports intended to accompany each fragrance and help you picture yourself in the story it tells.

Product photographs always faithfully show the item sold (candle, container, size). Only atmosphere or staging elements may be interpretative or creative.

Placing an order and availability 📦

When you place an order, you are making an offer to purchase. Les Fondeurs d'Histoires reserves the right to accept or refuse any order at its discretion.

Your order is only considered accepted after confirmation by email and receipt of payment.

Once the order has been confirmed, no changes can be guaranteed.

Your purchases are subject to our Returns and Refunds Policy.

Personalised products – Engraving and bespoke creations ✍️

Some products may be personalised (laser engraving, added text, dates, names or messages).

By confirming an order that includes a personalised product, the customer acknowledges and accepts that:

  • the product is made specifically to their instructions,
  • the text is engraved exactly as provided (spelling, accents and punctuation included),
  • no changes can be made once the order has been confirmed.

In accordance with article L221-28 of the French Consumer Code, personalised products are not eligible for the right of withdrawal.

They therefore cannot be exchanged, refunded or returned, even within the 14-day legal period.

Les Fondeurs d'Histoires cannot be held responsible for a typing error made by the customer.

Payment – The keys to the kingdom 💳

Prices are shown in euros, excluding delivery costs. VAT not applicable, article 293 B of the French General Tax Code.

Les Fondeurs d'Histoires reserves the right to change its prices at any time. The price charged is the one in force at the time of ordering.

You guarantee that you are authorised to use the payment method selected.

Delivery and collection – Let's go in style! 🚚

Les Fondeurs d'Histoires offers several ways of receiving your products.

Delivery by carrier

Products can be shipped to your home or to a pick-up point, via the carriers offered at checkout. Delivery methods, rates and conditions are detailed in our shipping policy. Delivery times are estimates. Les Fondeurs d'Histoires cannot be held responsible for delays caused by carriers.

Risk passes to the customer as soon as the parcel is handed to the customer or to the chosen pick-up point.

Collection from the shop

Les Fondeurs d'Histoires offers free collection from the shop, by appointment only, at: 48 Stang ar Goff, 29750 Loctudy, France.

Local delivery by appointment

Les Fondeurs d'Histoires offers a local delivery service by appointment:

  • Free delivery within 10 km of the shop (town of Loctudy).
  • A flat contribution of €2 for any delivery between 10 km and 26 km from the shop (Pays Bigouden).

Beyond this area, local delivery is not available.

The place and time of hand-over are agreed with the customer after the order.

Lead times and holiday periods

Preparation and delivery times may be exceptionally longer during holiday periods, busy periods or pre-orders. These periods are announced on the website or by email when ordering.

Les Fondeurs d'Histoires reserves the right to refuse or cancel a delivery if it is logistically impossible, offering an alternative solution (collection from the shop or refund).

Intellectual property – Our creative treasure 🗝️

All content on the website (texts, images, visuals, logos, narrative world) is the exclusive property of Les Fondeurs d'Histoires.

Any full or partial reproduction is strictly prohibited without written permission.

Liability – Security and confidentiality first 🛡️

Personal information is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Les Fondeurs d'Histoires accepts no liability for improper use of the products.

Errors, inaccuracies and omissions ⚠️

We reserve the right to correct any error or omission, including after an order has been confirmed.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Les Fondeurs d'Histoires cannot be held liable for any indirect or intangible damage related to the use of the Services or products.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Services if these Terms are not respected.

Governing law ⚖️

These Terms are governed by French law. Any dispute falls under the jurisdiction of the French courts.
